Welcome to the Higher Grounds of cannabis and coffee! We believe that commerce is advocacy, and that cannabis commerce is inherently political. Maine is a special place, and our medical program is one of its most precious assets. When you support your local growers and caregivers you are supporting the very fabric of our state. We not only seek the very highest quality and most effective cannabis for our customers--we also seek out those who share those values and represent them every day. Let's show the world that cannabis isn't just a 'consumer packaged good': it can and should be a means of DOING good.

As founding members of the Maine Craft Cannabis Association, we fight for the right to access high quality, affordable cannabis from the cultivators and curators of your choice. Our menu wouldn't be possible without that fight, and that fight isn't possible without your support. Come find us in Portland, and find your own higher grounds!

About Us

We're a queer-owned, women-led medical cannabis dispensary with a world-class coffee shop in the heart of Portland's Old Port. Cannabis, coffee, community, and advocacy are the building blocks of our project.
