With an inventory that’s worth browsing, Green Planet is proud to service medial patients &amp; adult use customers who are looking for the best high quality, clean, potent &amp; tested cannabis products in the area.</p><h3>About Us</h3><p>The founders of Green Planet were passionate about medical marijuana when the Michigan Marijuana Act was enacted in 2008. They helped found the City’s medical marijuana compassion club in 2009 known as the Ann Arbor Medical Marijuana Patient Collective. Monthly meetings held at the Ann Arbor Senior Center would draw crowds of a hundred or more for lively discussions with guest speakers including experienced growers, medical doctors, attorneys and law enforcement. It was the only source of information about medical marijuana in Ann Arbor at that time.</p><p>Green Planet was founded in 2010 as one of the first dispensaries in Michigan. The location on the University of Michigan’s central campus in Ann Arbor was selected because it was the site of the annual Ann Arbor Hash Bash and Monroe Street Fair. The founders had participated in the annual marijuana political rally and celebration since the 1970s.</p><p>Hash Bash started in the 1970s in reaction to the ten-year sentence received by a local Ann Arbor resident, for two joints of marijuana. A benefit concert in Ann Arbor including John Lenon &amp; Yoko Ono raised legal defense funds that eventually reversed the court decision when Michigan’s Supreme Court ruled that the State’s marijuana laws were unconstitutional. The first Hash Bash was a celebration of that victory and quickly paved the way for City of Ann Arbor’s passage of the $5.00 marijuana law.</p><p>Green Planet helped found the Ann Arbor Medical Cannabis Guild in 2011 with other local groups to help change local regulations and State Law to protect the rights of medical marijuana patients. With the support of many likeminded people, they raised money, organized local events, held fundraisers, spoke with politicians, and collected signatures which eventually helped obtain legalization of marijuana in Michigan.</p><p>Green Planet is still just as passionate about marijuana today. The times have changed with legalization - big money and corporations now dominate the Michigan marijuana market. As an independent mom and pop shop we know our customers want a good product at a good value – so that’s what we provide.
