Tim is a United States Air Force Veteran and retired Law Enforcement Officer. After leaving the military he received his degree in Applied Science Law Enforcement & Criminal Justice. In 1993 Tim received his certification from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and after 20 years of service he retired. During his tenure he worked with various task force units from federal to local drug interdiction and high profile subject protection security services. Tim found experience in many fields as a field training officer, hostage negotiator, critical incident team, investigations, patrol, community relations and defensive tactics Instructor. Tim earned state certifications as a train the trainer in crime prevention, personal safety, business security and safe school programs. After retirement he created his company Cannabis Safety First and began consulting services in safety packaging, facility security, safety training methodologies, regulatory compliance and educational awareness programs in the cannabis and hemp industries.
Over the past five years Tim participated in the development, creation and implementation of Ohio HB523, Ohio's Medical Marijuana Control Program. He continues his services as a cannabis and hemp community liaison meeting with regulatory boards and Ohio’s legislators to provide feedback on the progress and areas of improvement to the program. With his safety and security consulting services, Tim stays involved in the program working with patients and companies entering the Ohio medical cannabis and hemp communities and industries. In December 2017 Cannabis Safety First was accredited by the Ohio Better Business Bureau, In February 2018 Tim was the recipient of a Senatorial Citation for his community outreach involvement with cannabis educational awareness input, in March 2018 Tim was accepted as a Pro truth Pledge organization member and in April 2018 Tim was admitted to the Marquis Who’s Who organization for his contributions and participation in the Ohio and midwest cannabis industry. In October of 2019 CSF was recognized by the Best of Hilliard Awards in the category of Occupational Safety and Health. In March of 2018 Tim began working on what is now known as SB57, Hemp in Ohio Program. Tim is currently supporting a statewide cannabis decriminalization Bill and an adult choice Bill.
Tim remains active in the cannabis and hemp industries as the founder of CSF, the associate founder of the Ohio Cannabis and Hemp Chamber of Commerce, associate founder of the Ohio Hemp Farmers Cooperative and as an advising member to a multitude of related associations, organizations, educational Institutes and more. Tim's work further addresses reform policies regarding justice, judicial, government overreach, war on drugs, and law enforcement arenas. With 30 years in the safety and security field Tim is known as a specialist in the Ohio and Midwest cannabis and hemp arenas.
